6. New Business

New Business 6a. Introduction, discussion, and possible approval of a WANC Resolution to defend the collective First Amendment rights of WANC and its board members and officers, in advocating on behalf of neighborhood concerns. --- The Declaration’s position is to disagree with the interpretation of the L.A. City Attorney’s Office that Neighborhood Councils are forbidden from either taking a position or advocating to non-city entities. Tess Taylor, GTLNC president, may attend our meeting to present the Declaration. 6b. Discussion and possible approval of outreach expenses NTE $250 for upcoming WANC community events listed in agenda item 4d, including but not limited to the Vineyard Recreation Center’s Halloween Event (Friday, October 31).

Moción anticipada 6.a “We, the West Adams Neighborhood Council, affirm the attached Declaration of Commitment to Representative Government dated June 17th, support its principles whole-heartedly, [optional] and commend the Greater Toluca Lake Neighborhood Council (GTLNC) for its initiative, insight and leadership.
